Event Description:
The 2018 Fogle Author Series continues with author Jessica Strawser who will speak at Rodman Public Library on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 2:00 p.m., in the Main Auditorium. She is the editor-at-large at Writer’s Digest magazine, where she served as editorial director for nearly a decade and became known for her in-depth cover interviews with such luminaries as David Sedaris and Alice Walker. She has written for the New York Times’ Modern Love, Publishers Weekly and other venues. Strawser is the author of the novels Almost Missed You, named to Barnes & Noble’s Best New Fiction shortlist upon its March 2017 release, and her recent novel, Not That I Could Tell, released in March 2018. Not That I Could Tell was inspired by an event in Strawer’s life when she lost her best friend to domestic violence. A suspenseful, sad, and touching novel, it deals with public facades masking private despair. Strawser lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband and two children. The last visiting author of the 2018 Fogle Author Series to Rodman Library will be David Giffels who will speak on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2:00 p.m. Books will be available for purchase at the time of the authors’ visits which the authors will then sign after the program.
