Beginning in September 2015, Rodman Library will offer a series of computer classes which will run through November. Classes in September will be held September 9, 10 and 15, then again on September 21, 23, 24 and 30. Hands-on classes are limited to nine (9) persons and a maximum of two (2) alternates. All classes start at 10 a.m., except where noted at 6:30 p.m., and last about one hour. Registration is required and accepted by telephone or in person beginning the Monday of the week prior to the class. Call 330-821-2665, to register.
Basic Computers – Windows for Beginners: This class will cover the very basics of using a computer. Topics will include using a keyboard and mouse, where to find the power button, and some basic terminology.

Basic Computer – Surfing the Net: Learn the basics of the Internet: terminology, navigation, browser options and some sites of interest.
Class date is Thursday, September 10
Online Job Searching – Let us help make the job search process easier by showing you how to navigate some of the most popular job search sites. We’ll also discuss tips for the search process. Attendance at Surfing the Net or prior experience with using the Internet is preferred.
Class date is Tuesday, September 15
Searching the Net – This class will go more in depth on some of the topics covered in the Surfing the Net class. The focus will be on search engines and how to become a better internet searcher.
Class date is Monday, September 21, at 6:30 p.m.
Electronic Borrowing – Learn about the free apps available from the library for borrowing eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and television shows. Be sure to bring your library card, password, and Tablet/eReader with you to download the apps.

Intro to Mac – Are you a new Mac user or curious as to how they work? Stop in for this demonstration class to learn about the features of a Mac computer. This class is demonstration only.

Google Drive – Are you looking for a free online alternative to Microsoft Office? Google Drive offers access to Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more with free cloud storage. An active Google account is required to participate in this class. Please see a Reference Librarian if you need assistance setting up an account.
