Event Description:

Creating a backyard filled with wildlife can be easy. Lynette Reiner, Science Director at the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum, will be talking about what plants will attract butterflies and birds to your backyard on Monday, June 13, from 7 to 8 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium. Reiner graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a master’s degree in Zoology, and from the University of Akron with a double major of Comprehensive Social Studies and Interdisciplinary Anthropology. She was an intern at the Summit County Historical Society in Akron, Ohio, where she worked on preservation and archiving artifacts, plus interned at the Jewish Community Center in Akron, Ohio, teaching history and religion. Reiner was an active volunteer at the Akron Zoo in animal interpretation and care. She participated at the Fort Laurens Flux Gate Dig with the Ohio Historical Society, and worked in the field of science at Inventure Place in Akron, Ohio.

Reiner is an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, certified by Ohio State University, and a certified Projects Wild, Aquatic, and Growing Up Wild Facilitator. She is a member of The Nimishillen Creek Watershed Partners, the Stark Sustainability Consortium, and a category one wildlife rehabilitator.
