Michelle Dillon, president of the Alliance Historical Society, will present the program, “Matthew, Mary and Mabel: Part I”, on Monday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium. This is the first of two programs on the family who built and lived in the Mabel Hartzell Historical Home. As part of the Alliance Historical Society’s celebration of the 150th anniversary of the lovely Victorian home at 840 North Park Avenue, this program features a look at Matthew Early, who had the house built in 1867, and his wife, Mary Edwards Earley. Dillon will discuss her research on their families and lives, then return to Rodman Library on March 29 to present Part II of the program that will focus on the Earley’s adopted daughter, Mabel Hartzell, her Hartzell family, and the home that she willed to the Alliance Historical Society. This event is free and open to the public. No registration is needed. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 101.
