Time: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM EDT
Event Description:

Nationally known accordion player and children’s polka musician Mike Schneider (a.k.a. Uncle Mike) from Milwaukee, WI, will be performing his Pint Size Polkas after hours on Friday, July 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium as part of the 2016 Summer Reading Program.

Schneider began performing professionally in 1996. In 2008 at his wife’s suggestion, he began his Pint Size Polkas venture as Uncle Mike and since that time he has brought a little bit of culture, education, and a whole lot of fun to children and their families across the United States with his Pint Size Polkas program. Uncle Mike educates on concepts like the alphabet, numbers, occupations, personal hygiene, relationships, foreign language and how to dance the polka through the happy sounds of polka music. His polkas will give attendees a chance to test their fitness with a multitude of dance opportunities, as well as tackle “name that tune” and other trivia based on the summer reading theme “On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!”

This program is best suited for children in grades K-5 and their families. No registration is needed. For more information, call the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223. Funding for this event is provided by the Friends of Rodman Library.
