Join us at Rodman Main Auditorium on Saturday, July 23, from 1:00-1:45 p.m., for a preview of scenes from "Romeo and Juliet", by William Shakespeare. A brief discussion of the production will be offered, then, short selections from the play, set in the 1930s, will be performed by professional and amateur actors from Shakespeare at the Castle in association with the University of Mount Union.
Attendees to this preview will be entered into a drawing to receive a voucher for four FREE tickets per family — lawn or bleacher seating. A total of five vouchers will be given away. The Friends of Rodman Library are sponsoring fourteen tickets and the University of Mount Union six tickets. The public performance at Glamorgan Castle will run Thursday through Sunday, July 28, 29, 30, and 31, at 7:00 p.m. Grounds are open and available for picnicking at 5:45 p.m., with pre-show entertainment at 6:00 p.m. In case of rain, the performance will be held in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. As Kevin P. Kern, Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Mount Union states, “Shakespeare is for everybody.” This family-friendly library preview is free and open to the public. No registration is needed. For more information, call the library at 330-821-2665.
