Relive the excitement of Beatlemania as it swept the nation when John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr visited Cleveland in 1964 and 1966 for two of the wildest, out of control concerts of the Beatles in rock ‘n’ roll history. On Monday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium, Dave Schwensen, author of The Beatles in Cleveland, will take you behind the scenes and on stage with The Fab Four. Hear insider stories, see rare concert films and never-before published photos and memorabilia. The Beatles 1964 summer tour filled auditoriums with screams and fan hysteria during their concert on September 15 in Cleveland, Ohio, when police stopped the show in mid-performance and ordered the Beatles off the stage. The program’s highlights will include films of these riotous concerts at Cleveland Public Auditorium in 1964 and Municipal Stadium in 1966. The Beatles in Cleveland brings to life both these special moments in time. Schwensen is the author of six books, three blogs, and an entertainment journalist with articles published in the United States, Canada, and Japan. He’s a pop culture enthusiast, nationally recognized comedy coach, and a presenter with a sense of humor and love for music.
